[Greetings from the interior of Mt. Moon, Johto! It's dark. There's no one around and your phone is dead, or at least not on camera, save for the occasional flicker of blue noodly movement at the edges of the screen and two fluffy-looking lumps on the ground — a small but reasonable distance apart — that are probably bedrolls.

Oh, wait, there's something else of interest in this scene.


Considering there's about TWENTY EGGS piled up on top of those bedrolls.

(And a rather satisfied-looking Charizard hovering around in the background.)

There's movement from the one on the left, the shuffling squirming motion of someone groggily coming back to consciousness, and then abruptly Yagyuu sits up, coming perilously close to sending some of those eggs rolling away in the process. He looks down — ]

Lady!

[No, wait. These aren't Eevee eggs. Oh, thank Federer these aren't Eevee eggs.

He looks over at the other bedroll — ]

Nero-kun...

[And with a squeak of Air! from the Dragonair currently commanding the Gear, the feed ends.]

[ Some time thereafter, a text appears, accompanied by a snapshot of the eggs: ]

It appears we have some eggs to get rid of.

Ah, I wasn't planning to charge anything for them. I'd much prefer to see them find homes elsewhere as quickly as possible.

I see. Then a promise of a good home will do, I suppose.

I don't particularly like feeling in debt, but I'd much rather owe you a favor than having this generosity hang over me.

[Seriously, he's guilty enough about getting that 'anonymous' Vulpix.]

That's an understandable feeling, however unnecessary. In that case, rest assured it won't be anything particularly burdensome. Are you still in Goldenrod?

Then perhaps I'll simply ask you to play a game of tennis with me, once I get back.

[Keisuke's lips twitch up at the corners.]

I don't think that counts, since I've already agreed to do that.

I admit, I'd wondered if you'd remember that.

Would an errand suffice, then? I'd make the purchase myself, but I'm nowhere near a department store at the moment, and don't know when next I'll be in an area to buy something by catalog. I'll forward the money, naturally; you'd merely have to do the legwork.

A Fire Stone, Water Stone, Thunder Stone, Moss Rock, and Frozen Rock, please. I understand it'll be quite expensive, which is why I'm not also asking you to pay for them as part of the favor.

[Grandkids, why are you so high-maintenance.]

[He nods, taking down a mental list. You must be made of money...]

They're all evolutionary items. [He could guess who they were for, but Keisuke checks just to be certain.] Planning on doing evolution en masse soon, Yagyuu?

[Hey, man, he worked four hours a day, five days a week, for the better part of nine months. He's loaded as hell and he likes it that way.]

Would you believe I had a prophetic dream about it?

That depends. Do you often have prophetic dreams?

No, but they do seem to tie in conspicuously closely to the family in question. My junior named Lady based on a dream he claimed to have had about her, and predicted she'd evolve into an Espeon, as well — even when I'd intended otherwise for her.

...Why did the idea of them evolved seem so familiar. 8|]

I see. So are you going to carry out your intentions this time around, or let nature take its course, so to speak, and let them choose which evolution stone they use?

Twice now I've considered imposing an evolution on a member of my roster, and both times they've chosen their own course instead.

This time, I think I'll simply lay out all the stones in a line and let every man — or Eevee, as the case may be — fend for himself.
