[What's one of the biggest perks of having a regular job? Why, the disposable income, of course. And today it seems Yagyuu has seen fit to put it to use, as he is currently walking through the streets of Goldenrod City, pausing to look in store windows and evidently doing a fair amount of window shopping while he's at it. He's got what's probably a shopping list in his hand, as well; at least, it's a piece of paper he's carrying with him and referencing every so often, and occasionally making marks on with a pencil.

After a few minutes of candid camera, though, he glances down and retrieves his Gear, moving to activate it—and looking only mildly surprised when he discovers it's already on.]

Well, that saves me a certain amount of effort, at least. [He lightly clears his throat.] Provided it's not too much trouble, if any long-term residents of Goldenrod City would be willing to offer their expertise in a certain matter, I'd greatly appreciate any recommendations toward reputable stores with a wide availability of home decorations and furnishings. Preferably not of the Pokemon-themed variety, if at all possible. I've found a few promising establishments of my own, but in a city this large, there's always the potential to overlook available options, so I'd be grateful for any assistance.

[And with a polite, almost friendly smile, he nods in affirmation and then switches the feed off.]

Ah, yes, sufficient shelving for books is very important. Have you been accumulating a collection since you arrived?

Being constantly on the move, it didn't seem prudent to start amassing a collection until I had a permanent place to store one. I do have a few books, but it's mostly that I'm currently anticipating acquiring more in the future.

Ah, I see. That's fair enough.

I take it that means you aren't intending to do much traveling for a while?

It wouldn't make much sense, renting a home without intending to live in it. Particularly in a city as expensive as Goldenrod. I imagine I'll be here for quite some time--as will, I assume, the rest of my team.

The tennis court is a rather good incentive for that, as well.

It certainly doesn't hurt--

[He remarks, in the seconds before an amorphous purple blob skitters out of his shirt pocket and attaches to the side of his head, making cheerful squeaking noises as it goes.]

[As he attempts to get a hold on the blob and peel it off his face.]

[Luckily, he's had some practice at this by now, and Arsène is at least somewhat receptive to being peeled off; following a pointed glare from Yagyuu, the Ditto proceeds to meld around its trainer's wrist in an oddly gelatinous imitation of a power wrist.]

It's something of an escape artist, I'm afraid.

Most Ditto seem to be. They do have a lot of natural talent in the area.

This one is particularly notorious.

[And yet you named him after a thief, Yagyuu, what do you expect?]

And seems to enjoy reminding me of its presence, besides.

Dramatic escapes aren't very interesting if someone doesn't notice them eventually.

[He gives the Ditto a sort of irritable poke again.]

And if they don't result in a certain amount of collateral damage along the way, I suppose.

That is a nice side benefit, yes.

Is this one yours or your partner's?

In terms of narrative, at least. Which isn't quite the same thing as real life.

It's mine, unfortunately. Despite my better attempts to the contrary.

Perhaps, but it is much more interesting that way.

If you're the one who caught it you must have wanted one at some point, at least.

Actually, I caught it as a last resort, after I couldn't find any other way to get rid of it.

That is often considered a sign of love, you know.

Among children, perhaps. Though you may have a point--I suppose attaching itself to my head is the best approximation it can manage, given that I haven't any pigtails to pull.

A lot of Pokemon do seem to have behavior closer to children's than adults'.

You could always solve the issue by growing your hair out.

Or finding a wig, perhaps.
